Wine Bottle Lamp

Say the phrase "wine bottle lamp", and one might think of a light you shine into a wine bottle for some purpose that might be of special interest to wine lovers.

In fact, a wine bottle lamp is a lamp which uses a wine bottle for its base. It is simply, a wine bottle, a light bubble and light assembly, plus a lamp shade.

There are two ways you can go to be the owner a wine bottle lamp.

First is the atypical and more expensive way. You shop for a lamp with a wine bottle as its base. I saw an ornate online selling for just under $150. If this is the type of wine bottle lamp that appeals to you, I am sure you will love such a thing in your home.

Alternatively -- and this is what most people do -- you can purchase a wine bottle lamp kit. My wife has done this more than once, and it is pretty neat. The kit allows you to convert any empty wine bottle into a lamp base. The kit is simple, has but a few essential parts, and is easy enough to build. Once you have your wine bottle and your kit, all you need is a lamp shade of your liking.

Be advised that the parts of these kits will wear over time -- as will most anything -- and may need repair or replacement after some years (or months, depending upon how well you assemble it the first time).

Wine bottle lamp kits sell for under $20, and can be found online, or at an arts and crafts store like Michael's.
