Lift Top Coffee Tables

To me, the phrase "lift top coffee tables" can mean two different types of tables.

First, lift top coffee tables could be tables where the top opens for storage. With hinges connecting the top to the rest of the table on one edge, the tabletop opens like a door, and you can stow things in there -- like coasters, or the remote. You get the idea, but there is another type of coffee tables which I think most people these days mean when they say, "lift top coffee tables".

And that is the second type of lift top coffee tables -- the kind where the tabletop is set up to "come to you", if you will. With this sort of table, you sit upon your sofa and lift the tabletop up to you (it is on hydraulic hinges), in leisure and style. These tables are used for living room dining, playing games, reading, using one's laptop, among other relaxed activities.
