Essential Advice on Student Laptops

By

What are student laptops?  Why, laptops for students, of course.  Every college student needs a laptop these days -- such an item is mandatory in some cases.  I hope this hub helps you with student laptops.

Best Brands of Student Laptops

For most students, Apple makes the best laptops. Functionality and dependability are right there. An Apple Powerbook lasts a long time.  The catch is you have to pay about twice the price of essentially comparable PC student laptops.

For half the cost, you can own an HP.  Right now, I am typing this on an HP Pavilion laptop that I got for less than $600.  It has Altec Lansing speakers, as well as lots of ports, and a similar computer would make a great student laptop!

Student Laptops -- Essential Components

When shopping for student laptops, be sure to acquire these items in your machine.

Built-In Wireless Modem for wifi Access

Necessary for tapping into wifi Internet access at a hotspot. Almost all student laptops will come with a built-in wireless modem. Just be sure to check.

Wireless Mouse

When you buy a student laptop, add a wireless mouse if it's not included with the machine. Essential to all student laptops is the wireless mouse. Owning one equals one less wire hanging off your student laptop, and wires hanging off laptops are cumbersome.

Lots of Ports

Basically, you need these for expansion -- hooking up things like your wireless mouse, a digital camera, etc. The more ports the better. My laptop has 9 ports of various formats.

Bluetooth Connectivity

Bluetooth is the future of data connections and it's here now. If you can get it on your student laptop, do so.

Student Laptops -- Where to Shop

Best Buy

Brick-and-mortar or online, for selection and price, I submit you can't go wrong with Best Buy.  It's where I bought my laptop.

Amazon

You know Amazon, of course. Amazon has a great selection of student laptops.
