Cat Tree Furniture
67When families love their kitty and know
it and want to show it, they often decide upon cat tree furniture as
a way to do it. This works for the cat because cats love to scratch
and climb and hide – among other fun activities – and cat trees
give cats the opportunity to do all those things.
The person who first came up with this
sort of cat utility item was a visionary. I do not know how he or she
saw it – was it as a cat scratching tree, or as a tree cats could
climb? Who can answer, for sure? Still, what was created was
something cats would come to know and love as a place they can call
their own. (Would that they had language and the brain power to use
it.)
No home with this type of pet furniture sees it go unused. Cats thoroughly enjoy cat climbing and scratching trees.
Perhaps, your cat needs one, too.

What Do You Prefer to Call Your Cat Tree Furniture?
See results without votingMost often, you see these items
indoors. Outdoor cats have outdoor things to occupy their time. (They
also live far shorter lives than indoor cats, which is why I keep my
kitties inside, and thus prefer cat tree furnishings.)
When you go to a pet shop to consider
one, also consider something more than price. Very basic models can
be found for $20 or so, but please think about how interested and
engaged you wish your cat to be during play. After all, you wish your
cat to be happy and healthy, I am sure.
Really great – and durable – cat climbing trees can be had for upwards of $75. You can even go very elaborate and spend a couple hundred. One fringe benefit of such a cat toy is some of these do incorporate reused or recycled materials. Very cool, and also very green.
Obviously, cat tree furniture can be
bought online. The farther afield you go from the mega sites, the
more likely you are to find something unique.
Now, if you do not wish to outlay so
much money on your cat, consider the following. I knew a young man in
the 1990s who built his own for his cat – and my, was it elaborate!
It began in one corner of the room and crossed diagonally just below
the ceiling as a “cat walk”, which his cat happily used to find
its way to the other side of the room.
If you are handy, you can make your own cat tree furniture, just like my friend.
